Another Layout...Honey I Shrunk the Kids

Wow...I'm LOVIN' that I am getting so much scrappin' time!!! I scrapped at home on Thurs night, went to a crop on Fri night and had some ladies over on Sat night. To be fair, Sat night was a mini-album class, but I still got to scrap, so YEAH!!!

These are pictures are from our recent trip to Orlando. Our second day at Disney we went to Hollywood Studios. Erica THOUGHT she wanted to ride the Rock N' Roller Coater, but got scared when we got to the front of the line. Then she THOUGHT she wanted to ride the Tower of Terror, but again got scared at the front of the line. There really wasn't much in terms of RIDES, but we found the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground and she had a blast! This is a layout I used with the Basic Grey Origins line. I got it in the Scrapbook Nook's monthly kit and turned it into my monthly kit. I just LOVE the colors!

Spring Break Highlights Layout

As I work through my Design Your Life Class, I've been feeling VERY inspired by my Spring Break Trip. I intend to scrap each individual thing, but until I get to that, I like Cathy's idea of doing a vacation layout for one of her projects. It is a 2-page 12x12 spread with NINE pictures on it. So I agreed with her...and did a layout summarizing our Spring Break trip this year. As you saw from my posts, it was action packed!!!The papers are BoBunny's Mamma-Razzi (I hope I spelled that right). I love those colors and of course the fun they pick out of moms taking all the pictures...OK, maybe it's just scrapbooking moms :)

Toofless in Orlando

I totally couldn't resist scrapping this layout!!! I already posted about the excitement of Erica losing her first tooth in Orlando over Spring Break. It was one of the highlights of the day...and that was the same day she rode the Space Mountain Roller Coaster at Disney's Magic Kingdom!!!

This is a Real World Color layout from the Design Your Life Class that is about to end (and I'm three weeks behind). I just love the teal color and I have to admit the orange gives it a beautiful POP! But the picture takes the cake, doesn't it?!? I was at a crop at Scraptique in Wasilla and one of the gals told me the title had to be Toofless instead of Toothless...it's PERFECT!Core'dinations cardstock, October Afternoon patterned paper, BoBunny flower (from Mamma-Razzi...ha!!! It's an awesome line!!!).

I Scrapped!!!

Yeah!!! I scrapped last night...and it was another layout for the Design Your Life class. I'm sooooo far behind because of Spring Break, but oh well. This is a layout for Week 9...and today started Week 12 (ugh...the last week). I watched the video on elements (mostly lines today) and I love it. I'm such a linear person that I really liked this one. Horizontal and vertical and intersecting lines...what fun!

These pictures are from the ConocoPhillips Children's Christmas party. They always have face painting people and Erica LOVES it. We were lucky we got their early and there was not much of a line. Had there been a line, it wouldn't have mattered...Erica would've made us stay as long as it took to get her face painted. I'm not really happy with the pictures...I don't know why, but Erica tends to close her eyes when the flash goes off. I've been noticing that lately. I guess I should try to use my camera with less flash, huh? As usual, I must give layout credit to Cathy for her sketch. I used some Prima papers, American Crafts Thickers, Maya Road charms, and Stampin Up brads. The word strip is the digital download for this week from the class.

Toot for me...I'm soooo Excited

I just got notified yesterday (yes, it's taken that long for me to post..ugh) that I have been selected to be part of the Scraptique Design Team. Scraptique is a local scrapbook store in Wasilla, Alaska. I've known the owner, Lanita, for several years (our kids were in the baby room together before she moved out of town) and am excited to have reconnected with her and now be part of her team.

I can't wait to get started next week...stay tuned to see all the new products I get to play with all the projects I create.

Woo hoo!!!!

OK...and I promise...the next post will be layout projects!!! I intend to scrap tonight, am off tomorrow (and scrappin' at Scraptique), and have a class scheduled at my house on Sat. So there's LOTS of opportunity for me to be productive over the next few days.

Final follow up on Florida Vacation

OK...I'm back from vacation, but a bit overloaded with work. I have LOTS to scrap, but won't get to that for a few more days (sniff, sniff). I did want to post one more thing...well, two, but they're kinda the same thing.
I posted on my first vacation update that Erica lost a tooth. After I posted the second update on Thursday, I started packing. While I was in the bathroom gathering things, she came in with a towel on her mouth crying about her mouth bleeding. When I pulled the towel away, one of her bottom teeth was missing and her other top tooth was crooked and looked ready to come out. I FREAKED...that tooth was not loose and there it was gone. I asked her if she fell or bumped her face and she said no. I asked her what she was doing and she said she was biting on the strap of her purse (woof-woof). Grannie Annie and I looked everywhere on and around the bed and didn't find the missing tooth. We finally found it in the kitchen near where she got the towel. I asked her if I could pull the other top tooth and she s no with a whimper. So here's her second tooth missing during our vacation...again, talking to daddy.
The next morning we took Grannie Annie to the airport. As we were leaving, she asked me for a tissue. I asked if she had a bloody nose (she gets lots) and she said, "No, I pulled my other tooth out." So here's her third tooth missing...three teeth in about five days. The tooth fairy REALLY wants her teeth. At this rate, she'll have an empty mouth by the end of the month.

Vacation Highlights - pt 2

So much for logging on every night and posting pictures...almost all of my free time in the evenings has been for work (month end reporting is no fun!). But I had to come and post some pictures today.

We've had beautiful weather all week...until today. It rained almost all day (and not Alaska rain...REAL rain) with lightning, and some areas were in a tornado warning. Fortunately the weather forecasters had it right and we planned for it since the weekend. We knew we wouldn't be able to do fun park stuff outside, so we went to the John F Kennedy Space Center. Erica wanted to meet an astronaut...and she did!!! We met Charles "Sam" Genar (I think that's his name). He had been on three shuttle missions and was a wonderful speaker. Erica said lunch with him was her favorite part (yeah...success!!!). Of course mom spent extra for the printed picture so we could get his autograph (sucker). We also got a poster for her class (signed, too) and stickers for all her friends. Dad also got a gift, but I won't say what it is cuz he might read this before he gets it.
The other highlight of the Space Center was seeing a Moon Rocket and touching a Moon Rock. Erica said it looks like a triangle magnet...and it did. Unfortunately the tour wasn't as good as it could have been. We were in phase 2 lightning (within 10 miles) so we couldn't get out of the bus. But we didn't want to cuz it was raining so hard. We saw a new rocket on a launch pad, but couldn't get very close and the pictures I got were through a rainy window.
When we got back from the tour, it was POURING so we didn't make the walk over to the simulator or the IMAX show. Oh, well...saving that time allowed us to get the astronaut's signature and spend more money. But I have to say it was all worth it!!! Erica is still excited about engineering and science...and it's a prerequisite for being an astronaut (among other things).

Florida Vacation Highlights...pt 1

We've been here over two days and have been VERY busy with LOTS of great stories. I'll just highlight a few cuz it's late and we're getting up early tomorrow. I'll include more details when I get the layouts done...
Saturday we met up with some friends from Hurlburt who are now in the Tampa/St Pete area. First were the Nicely's. They said if Erica liked aquariums, that we needed to go to the Apollo Beach power plant to see the manatees. They were right! The power plant warms the water and the manatees like warm water. So there were TONS of them right there and Erica sat and watched them for a long time. One in particular cracked me up cuz he would float on his back and soak up the sun. Mom said he looked like he was "resting in peace."
After that we met up with Wilma. If it weren't for Wilma, Erica would not exist...she set Jeff and I up on a blind date. We are the first and only couple she's set up. She says she will never do it again because she's got a perfect record and doesn't want to ruin it. anyway, we met Wilma at the Florida Aquarium. It was awesome! We got a chance to touch a sting ray and a shark...cool!
Today was the first day at Disney. Erica has become a lover of roller coasters, so we rode Space Mountain. I had never ridden it before and didn't know what to expect. WOW, I have to say it was the scariest roller coaster I've ever been on. Erica was quiet the whole time. Come to find out, she also rode the whole time with her eyes closed. When I saw the picture they took of us, I HAD to buy it.
And all that was exciting, but the MOST EXCITING part of the trip so far was...ready...ready... Erica lost her first tooth! It has been wiggly for several months. Earlier today she said it felt like it had fallen out. I looked at it and it was holding on by threads on the left and right side only. Tonight in the hotel it started bleeding. I gave her some Children's Tylenol and an ice pack. She came into my room crying that it hurt and when she pulled out the ice pack (a towel with ice in it), the tooth stuck to the towel. Grannie and I started laughing that it had fallen out and then she started laughing, too. It was hard to tell if she was laughing or crying, but she kept saying she was laughing. We figured it would come out on vacation, so we have the tooth fairy pillow Grandma made her. Yeah!!! Oh, and of course that's Daddy she's talking to...
So that's a summary of the first few days. More to come. We're going to Disney's Hollywood Studios tomorrow.

A cute pix to bridge the gap

Well, I'm getting ready to go to Disney...WORLD. In just two days Erica and I will be heading out of town without Jeff (he has some audits to prep for). I'm a bit nervous about flying that long distance by myself, but all moms have their leverage techniques, right? Mine is wearing a dress...if she is not the perfect little girl, she has to change out of her dress and into jeans.

While in Orlando we're going to the Magic Kingdom (of course), Sea World, Kennedy Space Center, and a Yakee's pre-game. We're also going to make a trip to Tampa/St Pete to see some friends and Jeff's aunt/uncle (I need to get that coordinated). I also hear the manatees are hanging out around the coast and we should be able to see them while we're there...cool!!!

OK, so I'm not going to be posting many scrapbook pages over the next 10 days, but I'll do my best to upload some fun photos each day. And here's a cute one I took today...it was "Dress up as your favorite book character day." Erica wanted to be Cinderella, but she's out grown her dress. Then she was just going to wear another princess dress, but I wouldn't let her wear it without pants. So she decided to wear a cute red/white dress I just bought her and added a wonderful red cape Grandma made her. She looked just like Little Red Riding Hood.
