Camping Service Project

Still inspired by our camping trip in April, I made two more layouts. This first one was inspired by my brand new Scrapbook Trends magazine...I just love that magazine. I saw this blocking layout and knew I had to lift it. The papers are Basic Grey from their Origins line.

This layout is of the girls completing their service project...and how they worked to leave the camp better than they found it. They planted trees and flowers for the camp. Shhh...don't tell anyone, but Erica spilled her egg carton nearly full of dirt and seeds. If there are flowers growing under the picnic tables, I have no clue why. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! Our troop will return to Camp Carlquist this fall or winter, I look forward to seeing how they are doing.

S'more S'mores...Please

I finally got to the computer to scan the layouts from last weekend. I was inspired by the BoBunny Roughin' It papers and embellishments, so I scrapped the Girl Scout camping trip this April at Camp Carlquist.

This first layout is S'mores...what's Girl Scout camping without S'mores?!?! And Erica likes them sooooo much she made two. Check her out with one in her hand an two more marshmallows over the fire. I ended up having to eat the second one. Believe it or not, two was too much. I'm not sure she's really my daughter after all...

Dalon's Birthday Blog Hop...Final Stop

Welcome to our Birthday Blog Hop for Dalon. If you've come to my blog first and have time, please start with Debbie's blog. At the end of this post is Dalon's blog. Please finish there and leave her some Birthday love.

Dalon is a special woman and her friendship means alot to me. I met her years ago when she "crashed" a scrapbook retreat with her friend Joey...and then we punished them both by bringing them over to the scrapbook equivalent of "the dark side." Hee, hee...that's not a bad thing, but it's fun to remember. The really funny thing is there are so many connections in our lives that it was meant for us to meet sooner or later. I'm glad it was sooner! And I'm thrilled that our friendship has grown ever since that day!

Before I post the card I made for her and leave you with the link to her blog, I wanted to share some special notes from others who don't have a blog:

Her Mother-in-law, Lori: Happy Birthday! I hope you're not working too hard and have a great day! I'm missing you and had a great time with you and the boys on Saturday. You can ride a jet ski fast!

Her friend, Joey: My dear, sweet friend! Happy "you" day! Yes, it's all about you today, as it should be. you are so deserving of a stress-free day, filled with laughter, hugs, kindness, and love. It's what you exude each day to the world and today is a good day for you to get it in return. I look forward to our goofy cooking class tonight--surely it'll offer snickers and giggles. Thanks for sharing your evening with me! I love you Dalon and treasure our friendship, and you!

A quote from Eleanor Roosevelt: "A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words." You do this for me each day and I hope I sing for you, as well.

Happy Birthday! Love and Hugs - Joey

And this is the card I sent Dalon (late, sorry, Dalon!). One of Dalon's favorite celebrity scrappers is Stacy Julian. As I looked thru my stash for ideas, I found a card from an old I Remember When gal, Siewleng. It was so simple and classic and it reminded me of something Stacy would "throw together." So I adapted it to be a birthday card for Dalon...another simple and classic scrapper.

Thank you for sticking with us for Dalon's Birthday Blog Hop. I know I said my blog was the final stop...but hers is really the last stop. Please visit Dalon's blog and leave her some Birthday Love!!!

And thanks to everyone for helping put together the blog hop:

A few pix of summer fun

I did a little scrappin' this weekend. I haven't had a chance to scan the layouts, sorry. I do have a little crafty surprise in store later this week...so come back in a few days and check it out...hee, hee...
Until then, here are a few pix of some summer fun that you will see in layouts later this summer, I'm sure.

Erica and Bella on the first day of Girl Scout Day Camp. They are two peas in a pod!!!
Erica and Grandpa getting ready to go on Powder Keg...a BIG roller coaster that goes from 0-60 in just a few seconds (five maybe). Erica LOVED the roller coaster at Silver Dollar City last month.

Erica going down the BIG slide at White Water in Branson, Mo. This thing is a wedgie machine!!! I think they said it was 7 stories high. Jeff and I also went on it, but not as often as she did!

Erica and her new friend, Cole, riding the tube behind Grandpa's boat in Arkansas. She got to drive the boat, too...such a BIG girl!

Digital Free Bees...

I can't believe how I've been neglecting my blog tonight...I'm sorry! The good news is, I found some fun digital free bees from Jessica Sprague. You'll need to set up an account at the website, so do that first.

1. This weekend marks three years for jessicasprague.com. To celebrate, they are having a blog hop with 33 designers, each who have a free digital download for you. Unzip the download and you'll also find a quote. Rearrange all the quotes and send them in to be entered into a drawing for more free stuff.

2. Jessicasprague.com is having a computer tricks for cards class starting at the end of the month...and it's FREE. I've taken a few classes from her and they're awesome. I signed up for this one and am looking forward to it. Go to the website, click on the banner for the class, grab the promo code, and register. The class starts on Jun 28...but you'll have access to it at your pace.

Have fun!!! And I'll post some fun stuff by the end of the weekend, I promise...who knows, there may even be some digi stuff for me to post for you.

Father's Day Mini Album

I got this idea from a Memory Works class and tweaked it with different papers for a Father's Day mini album. It was fun to make...and now I've turned it into a class/kit for anyone else interested.

The papers and stickers are from Fancy Pants Designs (Like Father Like Son). The ribbons are from American Crafts, Stampin up, and some unknown from my stash. If you make it to my crop next weekend I'll have the kits there. Otherwise, let me know ASAP and I'll get one to you. This mini album kit (all supplies and instructions) is yours for $5. Here's a pix of the closed album...come see it in person next weekend.

Back from vacation to a neglected blog...

Whew...I got home two days ago and am still trying to get caught up. I'm sorry the blog is so neglected, but I've got some fun stuff planned so you should see some updates soon! I got some new Fancy Pants and am gonna make a Father's Day mini album (and do it as a class/kit...so if you're interested when you see it, let me know). I'm also going to TRY and make my first ever acrylic album on my own with some October Afternoon...woo hoo!!!

And speaking of a class/kit. Since Scraptique is closing at the end of this month, I won't be teaching that cute little camping mini album there. I've decided to go ahead and teach it on my own. It will also be available as a kit. I'll publish more info on when and how much the class is once I get my feet back on the ground from vacation. Until then...here's another peek at the camping mini album:
