Who do you scrap???

I don't know about you, but I tend to scrap my daughter more than anything else...about 99% of the time. OK, maybe not THAT much, but it's close. Those two layouts from my New Year's productivity (Boomerang and Inventory), they were the first non-Erica layouts in MONTHS!!! I especially don't like to scrap ME (sad, I know). I've committed myself to doing an "Encyclopedia of Me" scrapbook along with some other AC Bailey consultants...more to come on that :)

I was on the AC Bailey Community Forum and they asked if we scrapped our husbands. UGH...no, very rarely. So I was inspired to do a layout of nothing but Jeff. I didn't journal very much. I think my next page will pour my heart out in hidden journaling. Here's the layout...By the way, this is the Jan calendar layout (this year's calendar layouts are only 1-pg layouts and are $5 each...if you complete all 12 you'll get a free 12x12 calendar to display them at the end of the year):

These are Dreamstreet Papers and Jeneva patterned paper, Bazzill cardstock, Jenny Bowlin mini bingo card, Doodlebug Flower, Stampin' Up! ribbon and magic mesh, Maya Rd charms, My Minds Eye buttons, and Making Memories journaling block. I messed up on the journaling (even after I wrote it out first)...but oh, well...

Altered Projects

Have you ever done one? I *finally* did my first altered project. I like the way it turned out, but I sure need more practice. This started out as a Creative Imaginations "CREATE" wood block. I rearranged the letters, cut off the top of the T to make an I and made "ERICA." I used mod podge to adhere the papers (probably should've done an extra coat...oh, well). The papers are My Minds Eye and there are too many left over accessories for me to figure out what they are (sorry). Thanks for looking.

New Year's Productivity

Happy New Year!!! I hope you're off to a great start for 2009...mine has been exciting:

As you know, I participated in an online crop on New Year's Eve. It was more projects than a scrapbooking event (my preference). I also participated in an online crop from Jan 2-4 (I was there only 2-3 since we left for Disney on Jan 4). Anyway, this is a pix of me on Sat morning in my "clean" scrap room. Yes, this is clean. Oh, and check out the "sexy" camo night shirt Jeff got me for Christmas...funny story!!! So, I'm off to a good start on this goal in that I have cleaned my room and managed to keep it clean as I worked on 11 layouts and multiple projects during the two online crops I did.

So did you catch the number of layouts I did above? ELEVEN!!! I have a goal of 5 per month...I think I'm off to a good start there...and I'll be at a crop this weekend, so I'm hoping to add to that number. Here are a few I did during the online crops. What a blast!!! There's no story behind "Boomerang" other that my brother rode the roller coaster with me at Six Flags in New York. But "Inventory" has a GREAT story! Santa used to leave my brother an I condoms in our stocking and Dad would take "intentory" every year. Well, we were at Granny's house for Christmas one year and Santa got confused and left TWO boxes of condoms for Steve and NONE for me...this are pictures my mom sent me of my Granny.

And the last exciting thing is our second trip to Disneyland. WOW, what a trip...and Erica did VERY well on the airplane. She's such a big girl!!! 5 days in the park is a bit much, but we had fun and that's what counts. I haven't downloaded the pix from my camera, so I can't share any yet...sorry. Erica used the Disney mini book I made at the New Years online crop as a journal to write about what she did and what she liked most each day. She took it to school and shared it with her friends and teacher. And of course, I still have pix from LAST year's trip to scrap...so I did a layout during the online crop for that, too...here it is.

A Year in Review

So I did it...I actually finished (and scanned and uploaded) the year in review layout I talked about in Dec. It's more of an accomplishments layout, but it's close enough. Erica, Jeff and I made a list of the things we did for the first time and most of them made it to the layout:
  • Disneyland
  • Ice Skating
  • Cooking
  • Visiting/Meeting Cousins Carter, Trevor, and Aunt Mo and Uncle Steven
  • Learning to Ride a 2-Wheeler (she taught herself!!!)
  • First Sleepover with Paige Brown
  • Going to Kindergarten
  • Learning to Read and to Spelling, Sounding out Words on Her Own
  • Going to Daisy Scouts
  • Learning to Tie a Bow
  • Shooting Her Own .22
  • Riding a Scooter

I guess I should say that the products are Bazzill cardstock, MME papers and rubons, as well as a few other misc products from Karen Foster Designs, Creative Imaginations, Creative Memories, Maya Road, and Stampin' Up!

Online Crops???

Have you ever participated in an online crop? Have you ever heard of them? They are a ton of fun!!! Someone hosts the crop and posts challenges throughout the crop period. Participants log in from time to time to get the "homework" assignments and play games. Then you work on your projects and post the results. The hosts will draw prizes from the list of participants on a particular challenge or the first to complete wins (depending on the challenge). The goal is to be productive and have fun!!!

AC Bailey is hosting an online crop Jan 2-4...anyone can participate, but you need a login account with the community forum as well as the gallery (to post your projects). I hope to "see" you at this online crop...it's gonna be a blast!!!

I just participated in a different crop today. I was unable to spend the entire day cropping, but I did get a few projects completed. Here they are...these all had complete instructions available. If you're interested in any of the instructions, let me know.

This is a mini book. I saw this project and immediately knew I HAD to make one using Creative Imagination's Memories kit (plus a few embellies from another Disney kit I had). We're going to Disneyland on Sunday...in THREE DAYS!!! I can't wait to take this with me to document out vacation.

And this is a box in a bag project. The instructions came from here. It was VERY EASY and quick. I did not add any additional embellishments, but depending on the pattern paper you select, you may want to do that.
